Build the Classroom Where Young Scholars Thrive

Rising Scholars Early Learning Academy seeks an experienced, credentialed Preschool Lead Teacher who brings purposeful lesson planning, strong classroom management, and warm family relationships to daily practice. You will lead a developmentally appropriate classroom that supports social-emotional growth, independence, and kindergarten readiness.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and an earned Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. A plan to pursue a CDA does not meet this posting’s minimum credential requirement.

  • At least 2 years of experience in an accredited childcare facility, with demonstrated ability to plan activities, supervise children, and guide a classroom.

  • Meet Pennsylvania education, experience, and documentation requirements for the assigned Group Supervisor or Assistant Group Supervisor classification. Classification and eligibility will be verified before placement.

  • Ability to implement age-appropriate lesson plans, use positive guidance, document observations, and communicate professionally with families and colleagues.

  • Ability to satisfy all required Pennsylvania clearances, health documentation, and training requirements before beginning duties that require them.

  • Current pediatric First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain required certification before performing duties that require it.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field.

  • Preschool classroom leadership experience and familiarity with Creative Curriculum, child assessments, and kindergarten readiness.

  • Experience mentoring assistants or aides and using ProCare or a similar childcare communication system.

What You Will Do:

  • Plan and implement Creative Curriculum lessons and hands-on experiences that support language, early literacy, mathematics, physical development, and social-emotional skills through play.

  • Provide active supervision, maintain required ratios, and use consistent, positive guidance to build a safe, supportive classroom.

  • Lead and collaborate with assistants, aides, and volunteers. Share daily expectations and coordinate lesson planning, classroom routines, and transitions.

  • Observe and document children’s progress; complete developmental assessments and progress reports twice yearly and participate in parent conferences.

  • Build respectful relationships with families and communicate about children’s learning, needs, and daily experiences through approved RS systems.

  • Maintain accurate attendance, incident/accident, meal, medication, and assessment records as required by your role and RS procedures.

  • Follow health, hygiene, allergy, emergency, and mandated reporting procedures. Report hazards and protect confidential child and family information.

  • Keep the classroom and materials clean and organized. Complete assigned nap-time cleaning while maintaining supervision, classroom closing tasks, and opening/closing duties as assigned.

What Successful Teaching Looks Like:
